Founder Anna O'Gara has a background in care and neuroscience. After supporting people with epilepsy in residential care settings during the pandemic, Anna identified two deep challenges.
First, the shock and heightened emotions while supporting the individual during a seizure, maintaining a safe environment, and communicating to colleagues meant that there were significant gaps in memory and clinical insight in written seizure records.
Second, clinicians requested specific information to accurately diagnose and prescribe for patients, often asking “can you collect a bit of video footage?”, which is easier said than done!
Carpe Care is building the all-in-one system bridging the gap between carers and clinicians.

Delays in epilepsy diagnosis and interrupted treatment can have devastating effects. It can lead to further seizures, hospital admission, or sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP). We want to help people with epilepsy get the right care quickly.
Carpe Care offer hands-free video recording connected to a groundbreaking digital platform to support the 630,000 people (1 in 100) with epilepsy in the UK, to provide better diagnosis and care for every individual.
